Master Automotive Technician

Job Description:

A Master Automotive Technician needs to have the skills to perform visual inspections, perform routine maintenance and automotive repairs and the ability to perform advance diagnostic procedures. Above all, you should be able to display good mechanical aptitude, but you also need strong computer literacy and the ability to work on a variety of makes and models of vehicles. In addition to your automotive knowledge, you should be competent with a variety of tools, including diagnostic equipment as well as standard hand tools. You should have strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications:

  • 1. High School graduate or GED equivalent preferred
  • 2. Display mechanical ability and aptitude
  • 3. Is a ASE Master Automotive Technician
  • 4. Ability to repair and diagnosis a variety of automotive components
  • 5. Ability to maintain a preventive maintenance program on all vehicles
  • 6. Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
  • 7. Willingness to work independently and well with others
  • 8. A valid Driver’s License
  • 9. Knowledge & understanding of automotive systems
  • 10. Meet or exceed minimum performance levels
  • 11. Maintains a good on time record
  • 12. Perform on the job training as well as self-learning education
  • 13. Has ASE Master Technician certifications A1 –A8
    • A1 – Engine Repair
    • A2 – Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
    • A3 – Manual Drive Train & Axles
    • A4 – Suspension & Steering
    • A5 – Brakes
    • A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems
    • A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning
    • A8 – Engine Performance
  • 14. 5 years’ minimum work experience in automotive repair industry
  • 15. Work in progress towards ASE L1 L2 & L3
