Entry Level Automotive Technician

Job Description:

An entry-level automotive technician needs to have the skills to perform visual inspections, perform routine maintenance and light repairs and the ability to perform simple diagnostic procedures. Above all, you should be able to display good mechanical aptitude, but you also need strong computer literacy and the ability to work on a variety of makes and models of vehicles. In addition to your automotive knowledge, you should be competent with a variety of tools, including diagnostic equipment as well as standard hand tools. You should have strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or GED equivalent preferred
  2. Display mechanical ability and aptitude
  3. Desire to become a professional or master automotive technician
  4. Ability to repair a variety of automotive components
  5. Ability to maintain a preventive maintenance program on all vehicles
  6. Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
  7. Willingness to work independently and well with others
  8. A valid Driver’s License
  9. Knowledge & understanding of automotive systems
  10. Meet or exceed minimum performance levels
  11. Maintains a good on time record
  12. Perform on the job training as well as self-learning education
  13. Work in progress training for ASE G1 certification
